Project: Ultimate Stampede

Preface

When the local track opened up a free-for-all monster truck class in the Summer of 2000, there was nothing I could do to resist getting involved in this wild and exciting new venue. After a quick review of the R/C monster market, the Stampede, sharing core components with the Rustler I had been running with good success, practically picked itself to be my weapon of choice. And so was born... the Ultimate Stampede project!

For me, the Ultimate Stampede is not the one with the most aluminum / titanium / graphite hop-ups, the most ridiculously oversized tires, or the most intricate $?00 aftermarket chassis. Instead, it is absolutely true to the original design of the truck and modified for the lowest dollar amount to be competitive on the track and capable of delivering maximum bashing fun.
